Cricketers wish Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on his birthday

Wishes pour in for Ravindra Jadeja on his 28th birthday

India have had batting superstars, spin kings who have ruled the roost and even all-rounders who have been one of the best in the world, but until the arrival of Ravindra Jadeja, they never had a cult hero who dominated the headlines irrespective of his exploits on the field.

Ever since Ravindra Jadeja turned out in Indian colours, he has only reaffirmed the faith shown on him. Although he was seen as a limited-overs specialist early in his international career, he has since blossomed into an integral member of India’s Test side, especially at home.

He may not have a single century yet in international cricket and only eight in domestic cricket across all formats, but he has three triple centuries in first-class cricket, something no other Indian batsman has ever achieved.

That feat seems all the more impressive when you consider that he is seen largely as a left-arm spinner who can also contribute with the bat, as evident from his position in the lower middle-order in all formats of the game.

With nearly 150 ODI scalps and closing in on a century of wickets in Tests, the left-arm spinner has been incredibly effective as a bowler even if he hasn't always lived up to his domestic exploits with the bat in international cricket.
