Dale Steyn becomes 15th highest wicket-taker in Test cricket
On the fourth day of the ongoing Test match between Sri Lanka and South Africa at Colombo (SSC), South African speedster Dale Steyn took his 374th Test wicket to go past Waqar Younis of Pakistan and get himself into the top 15 wicket-takers of all-time in the longest format of the game.
Former Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan heads the list with 800 international Test wickets, followed by Shane Warne (708 wickets) of Australia and Anil Kumble (619 wickets) of India.
Sri Lankan opener Upul Tharanga was Steyn’s 374th victim. The 31-year-old just need 3 more wickets to go past the West Indian legend Malcolm Marshall who took 376 wickets in his illustrious career. Here is the list of top 15 leading wicket takers in the history of Test cricket:
