Damien Wright named as an assistant coach of Tasmania
Damien Wright, the former New Zealand bowler, has been appointed as assistant coach of Hobart Hurricanes. He will fly to Tasmania in the next summer for the KFC Big Bash league. Damien Wright, after his retirement, had been the bowling coach of New Zealand before Shane Bond took over. He had also been a bowling coach for Victoria and Melbourne Stars.
“I’m excited to be coming back to Hobart as assistant to Dan,” Wright said. “I’ve seen first-hand the strength of the Tigers programme and can’t wait to get involved again and from what I have witnessed the Hobart Hurricanes have just grown from strength to strength on and off-field.”
Richard Allanby will continue as the assistant coach to Daniel Marsh and Lachlan Stevens, the former Western Australia’s head coach, will be the manager of Cricket Tasmania.
