David Lloyd is one of the well-known voices of modern day Cricket broadcasting

One of the most popular commentators, David Lloyd picked his favourite Pakistani cricketers across all generations. Lloyd named Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Imran Khan and Javed Miandad as his most favourite Pakistani cricketers. The commentator was asked about it by one of his followers.

The names he took are obviously world class players who made an immense contribution to Pakistan’s success during their playing days.

Wasim Akram considered the greatest left-arm pacer of to have graced the game was a master at his art. He had the ability to dictate terms both with the new ball and the old ball and was arguably the best exponent of reverse swing. His performance in the 1992 World Cup still remains one of the highlights of his glittering career. The way he tormented the English batsman in the final being a youngster in the team left everyone spell bound.

Bowling around the wicket the left arm speedster repeatedly swung the ball away from the batsman which was an unknown commodity till then. Many people still suggest it’s nearly impossible to swing the ball away from the batsman bowling from that angle but Wasim Akram was not any ordinary bowler.

Waqar Younis formed the lethal ‘Two W’s’ bowling pair of the nineties with Wasim Akram. While both Wasim and Waqar bowled with lively speeds but Waqar was more reputed for his lethal Yorkers and well-directed bouncers. He literally intimidated batsman of his era and the duo gave nightmare to any top batting line up.

Miandad was all about guts and passion and would easily rank among the greatest Pakistani cricketers to have graced the game. He had a great knowledge of the game and was an aggressive leader. He smashed Chetan Sharma for a six in the last ball of Austral-Asia Cup final in 1986 which is etched in everyone’s memory.
