David Miller is targetting a clean sweep against India on Thursday

South Africa’s David Miller is hopeful that his side can win the final match against India on Thursday to clean sweep the three-match T20 series, Cricbuzz reports. The left-handed batsman also hailed the impact that the Indian Premier League has had on the youngsters from both countries.

The visitors have already clinched the T20 series with the final game of the series yet to be played having won the exciting opener at Dharmasala before outclassing India in the 2nd T20 at Cuttack in a match which was marred by crowd trouble.

With the T20 series finale set to be played later today in Kolkata, Miller is hopeful that he ends up on the winning side yet again.

"We are 2-0 up and are determined to make it 3-0. Momentum and confidence are a big thing in international cricket. I think, our preparations have been really good. We've been trying to check all the boxes and hopefully we come out on top tomorrow. To be honest, it's a great feeling to be coming to Kolkata 2-0 up in the series,” Miller said, at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

Miller said that his side were absolutely delighted that the hard work put in training ahead of the long tour has paid off, at least till now, and expressed confidence that the series win against India will give the Proteas a confidence boost with the 2016 World T20, also to be played in India, less than six months away.   

“The series win is really big. We came here with a lot of expectations to do well, we have put a lot of pressure on us to perform," Miller said. "India are an amazing T20 side with huge players. It gives us a lot of confidence moving forward coming close to the World Twenty20. We are playing against England and at the end of the year in Australia. We just need to take as much confidence as we can moving forward. It has been a huge confidence booster," Miller said.

Miller is an integral part of the Kings XI Punjab side

Miller, who is an integral part of the Kings XI Punjab franchise in the IPL, hailed the T20 league for providing several youngsters from both sides the opportunity to play along with the established stars of the game. The destructive batsman also acknowledged that playing in the IPL has helped several of the South African players acclimatise to the conditions in the sub-continent much better. 

"It (the IPL) makes a massive difference. We have come out on top against India. I think the IPL has helped not only the foreign players but the younger guys from India as well. It's an unbelievable tournament, it has given an opportunity to a lot of players. It also definitely helped South African getting used to the conditions in India. We are feeling a lot more at home," Miller added.
