Yuvraj's price tag was market determined: Delhi Daredevils CEO
The CEO of Delhi Daredevils, Hemant Dua, said yesterday that Yuvraj’s price was a result of the market competition, and that Rs.16 crore was not a part of the plan. "I think we talk about Rs.14-16 crore but that's all a market place. As Yuvraj had rightly said (in Vizag) that he never asked for that price. It was a market place," Daredevils’ CEO Dua told PTI.
He said that although they would have liked to get him for less, but the final price was eventually market-determined. "Would we have liked it to be Rs.16 crores? No, as a franchise, I would want it to be as less as possible, right. But there is an opposition [rival franchises], which is there and they want the price to go up. So as I said, it was market determined," Dua explained.
The great Indian left-hander has piled up only 205 runs at a paltry average of 18.63 from the 12 games DD has played this season.
