IPL 2014: Delhi Daredevils make a bold move, do not retain any players
In what comes as a shock news, IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils have announced that they have not retained any of their players. While the names of David Warner and Kevin Peterson were doing the rounds to have been retained, Delhi Daredevils have confirmed that they have not retained any of their players for IPL 7 from their previous squad.
The franchise have made a bold move and banked on the auctions. Virender Sehwag, David Warner and Kevin Pietersen and South African pace-man Morne Morkel are the most notable exclusions from the retention.
The Delhi franchise will be looking for a completely new look to their team as they look to improve upon last season’s disastrous performance in the IPL in which they finished bottom of the table. Virender Sehwag who has been battling poor form in 2013, will go into the auctions for the first time ever in the history of IPL.
We regret having previously informed that DD had retained a couple of their players in David Warner and Kevin Pietersen. We were misled by a tweet from cricinfo.
We erroneously tweeted that Delhi Daredevils retained Pietersen and Warner ahead of the IPL auctions. The error is regretted. No retentions
