Delhi Police, Nehra Ji and Maa ka Pyar: Virender Sehwag's Twitter handle is as amazing as his batting

Virender Sehwag bats on Twitter better than anyone else.

If the word unique ever needs a human manifestation, you would not need to look farther than former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, who manages to give everything a style of his own. Whether it was his penchant to hit six while in his 90s or the ability to take spectacular catch days after being called slow, Sehwag has always managed to steer away from the mainstream.

However, in recent years, the world has got to know another side of him through his exploits in the field of cricket broadcasting. And as if his commentary in Hindi was not enjoyable enough, Sehwag has brought out a completely different side of his personality through his Twitter handle.

The Nawab of Najafgarh has always come across as someone who is carefree, bereft of any pressure and likes to live life quite simply without bothering much about what is happening around him. However, browsing through his Twitter page, you realise how much the Nawab of Najafgarh cares about everything happening around him.

Be it his respect and admiration for the Indian army, the habit of keeping track of what Delhi police does or his respect and love for “Nehra Ji”, the former Indian opener is scoring in boundaries on Twitter as well.

Being a Delhite, Sehwag loves keeping track of what is happening in the country’s capital, especially on the law and order front. The former Indian opener also keeps complete track of what the Delhi Police is doing and often retweets their accomplishments as a token of respect.

Besides his cricket, Sehwag also owns the Sehwag International School and Viru, on occasions more than one, keeps sharing activities done by the institution.

The former Indian opener, who is never known for mincing words or letting his opinions known, is a big supporter of former Indian teammate and pacer Ashish Nehra, whom he affectionately calls “Nehra Ji”. He leaves no stone unturned to promote and appreciate Nehra on Twitter with the fast bowler himself not being there (he still uses his old Nokia, remember).

Sehwag loves no one more than his mother and makes his feelings known quite often. His tweets and retweets on Mother’s Day just reflected what his mother meant to him.

And just to complete his serious side, Sehwag sometimes gets philosophical and spiritual as well.

He might be all spiritual, patriotic and serious, but there is a cheeky side to Sehwag that does not go away. And whom better to start with than his “old friend” MS Dhoni.

And to cap it all off, Sehwag keeps giving us a taste of how much he is loved by retweeting some amazing facts and pictures of himself.
