Dhawan is learning from his mistakes
Shikhar Dhawan has been in top form in the last year, but was very ill-at-ease in the first Test against South Africa in Johannesburg. In the second also he looked very uncomfortable against the short deliveries.
Dhawan was himself very disappointed about his inning and after the day’s play, he said, “I am disappointed with my batting today. I started really well. I have been connecting the ball really well. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make a big score. I was playing close to my body. But I have learnt from my mistakes. Today, I got out to very good ball, so I can’t do much about it.”
On being asked about Durban’s wicket, he said,” The Durban wicket is very different from the one we had in Johannesburg. The ball was seaming from the cracks. It is slower in comparison to the Johannesburg wicket. So, it’s a bit tricky. From the length ball, you can’t really know whether it’s going to go up or keep low. But it’s a good batting track.”
