Pat Cummins becomes the number one Test bowler
Australian pacer Pat Cummins has become the top-ranked bowler in Test cricket. He has risen to the number one position even as Kagiso Rabada slipped two spots in the latest ICC Player Rankings.
Cummins is the first bowler from Australia to top the Test rankings since Glenn McGrath's reign ended in February 2006. He now has 878 rating points and is 16 points ahead of the second-ranked James Anderson.
Rabada, who had a below-par showing in South Africa's shock defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka at Durban, has dropped down to the third spot. At the moment, he trails Anderson by 13 rating points.
Meanwhile, India captain Virat Kohli continues to lead the ranking charts for Test batsmen. Kane Williamson currently occupies the second spot and Cheteshwar Pujara completes the top three.
