Dhoni, Chahal rise in latest ICC ODI rankings
MS Dhoni and Yuzvendra Chahal were some of the top gainers from the latest ICC ODI rankings, released after the end of the five-match series between India and New Zealand.
Pacer Trent Boult, who finished with 12 wickets in five games, rose as many as seven spots to reach the third place in the bowling charts, behind Jasprit Bumrah and Rashid Khan.
For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal moved up the ladder; while Chahal moved up one place to the fifth spot, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bumped up six places to the 17th spot.
The batting rankings are still led by Virat Kohli, who played the first three ODIs before being rested for the last two games. MS Dhoni, who has been in good touch starting 2019, moved up three places to be 17th on the list. Kedar Jadhav jumped eight places to be 35th in the rankings.
Player of the Series in the Pakistan-South Africa series, Imam-ul-Haq jumped nine spots and finished 16th in the batting rankings, having scored 271 runs while opening for Pakistan. For South Africa, Quinton de Kock moved up inside the top-10, climbing from eighth to seventh in the latest rankings. Other changes include Shaun Marsh moving from 60th to 43rd, and Glenn Maxwell changing spots from 32 to 30th.
