Dhoni leads ICC ODI team of the year
Indian captain MS Dhoni was named captain of the ICC’s ODI Team of the Year for 2011-12. This is the fifth consecutive year that Dhoni has made the ICC ODI team and has been named the captain.
Along with Dhoni, two other Indians, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, have also made the cut. Alastair Cook, Kumar Sangakkara and Michael Clarke has been included as well. The bowling department boasted of Morne Morkel, Steven Finn, Lasith Malinga and Saeed Ajmal. Shahid Afridi was named as the all rounder with Shane Watson being the 12th man.
This team was chosen by the same five-person jury that picked the Test Team of the Year earlier this month. Incidentally, while no Indians made it to the ICC test team of the year, India has the maximum representation in the limited overs format.
