Dwayne Bravo releases debut music video 'Go Gyal Go'
West Indies ODI captain Dwayne Bravo has released his debut single ‘Go Gyal Go’, which is expected to be become one of the biggest musical hits in the Caribbean islands this summer.
The song is written by Dale Ryan, Emmanuel Rudder, Patrice Millien and Danielle Millien, who are all big names in the music industry. The video, shown above, also features Bravo’s West Indian team mate Fidel Edwards and is directed by well-known broadcaster Jason Williams, who is a close friend of the Chennai Super Kings star.
Speaking on his love for music, Bravo said: “Music is a passion and a way of life for me. I always maintained that, had I not carved out a career as a cricketer, I would have ended up in the entertainment industry. I am now developing my own artistic ideas for further tracks that will feature on my new album, and I am excited that I have come such a long way and developed my own style and confidence in the musical arena, from when I first dabbled in this industry with the guidance of my best friend, the Grammy-Award winning dancehall artiste, Beenie Man. This is an avenue I am seriously considering as a career, following my eventual tenure in world cricket.”
The 30-year-old all-rounder also added that in modern times, there are ample opportunities for cricketers to look at other career options apart from just being involved with professional cricket. Fellow West Indian Chris Gayle started his own restaurant ‘Triple Century’ in Jamaica last year.
“The game now brings with it many and varied opportunities, particularly, for in-demand players. I work closely with my agent in deciding which such ventures, when presented, would benefit myself, my image and my public profile in the longer-term,” the Trinidadian said at the release of the music video.
Bravo further added that cricket is still his priority and he has no intentions on compromising his sporting career for other things.
“The priority is that I never jeopardize my position as a senior member of the West Indies Cricket team and the privilege such a position holds. However, it is of course wonderful to have opportunities and offers to act in big-name movies, partner with billion-dollar Chinese firms, be the face of telecommunications giants and have the flexibility to explore my musical ability and aptitude, for example. I feel extremely blessed,” he concluded.
