Eden Gardens to have a talk show in the break between the morning and afternoon session during every Test match
The Eden Gardens in Kolkata is not just any other venue in Indian cricket. Considered as the Mecca for the game in this cricket-mad country, it has played host to some iconic encounters in the past that are still remembered till date.
But, there are certain events that aren’t often remembered with as much fondness as others. The likes of the 1996 World Cup semifinal involving India and Sri Lanka where a certain section of the stand was lit up because of the hosts poor batting show, the 1999 Asian Championships game, which was again disrupted by the crowd after a controversial run-out involving Sachin Tendulkar was not given in India’s favour and the match had to be completed in empty stands.
But, all that is in the past and the new regime, led by former India captain Sourav Ganguly have brought in some much-needed changes which have ensured that the ground remains in top-notch condition throughout.

The India-Pakistan World T20 game was conducted in superb fashion, despite officials receiving the news late and despite a decent downpour prior to the start of the game, only four overs in total was lost as the Men in Blue completed an emphatic win over their arch-rivals.
However, it is just isn’t on the field that Ganguly has made significant alterations to the venue. Off the field as well, he has brought in new changes.
Like unveiling a new Lord’s like bell at the ground, which was rung by Kapil Dev prior to the start of proceedings on Day One on Friday. The latest change to arrive at the venue is the introduction of a talk show that will happen during the break between the morning and afternoon session whenever a Test is held at the Eden Gardens.

Revealing this new introduction, Ganguly said that it was fun to hear stories about the experiences of past cricketers and he was looking forward to more such days in the future.
“It is for anecdotes like these that we hold these talk shows. This is brilliant. Everyone is candid and there's so much fun. I plan to continue with these shows in Test matches," he said.
The first of those interactions happened on Day One when the likes of Virender Sehwag, Anil Kumble etc recollected their favourite moments.
