England, on Tuesday morning, announced their final 15 member squad for the ICC World Cup 2019. Jofra Archer, James Vince and Liam Dawson who were not the part of the preliminary squad have made into the final fifteen.
In case you didn't know...
England had announced 15 members preliminary squad for the ICC World Cup on 17th April. However, ICC has given time till 23rd May, to make further changes and announce the final squad.
Preliminary Squad: Eoin Morgan (Captain), Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett, Joe Denly, Alex Hales, David Willey, Tom Curran.
The heart of the matter...
England selection panel under Ed Smith, on Tuesday, announced the final 15 member squad for the World Cup. They have added Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson and James Vince to the squad replacing, David Willey, Joe Denly and Alex Hales from the preliminary squad.
David Willey and Joe Denly were part of the squad in the recently concluded ODI series against Pakistan. However, both of them failed to make an impact in the series with their performances. Alex Hales has been dropped from the squad for taking recreational drugs.
The inclusion of Jofra Archer and James Vince was expected after their decent performances in the Pakistan series while the performance in Royal London cup earned the World Cup spot for Liam Dawson. The left arm spin bowling all-rounder has picked 18 wickets from 9 matches for Hampshire in Royal London Cup. He also scored 271 runs.
Vince will be the backup opener in the squad while Dawson will be the backup for their spinners - Adil Rasheed and Moeen Ali. Both are not expected to get a game unless England decide to rest some of their first choice players or there is an injury concern. On the other hand, Archer is expected to be featured in a bunch of games.

What's next?
The tournament will start on 30th May with England taking on South Africa at Kia Oval, London. The final will be played at Lord's, London on 14th July.
