England cricketers sketch for charity; Gary Ballance gets mocked by teammates
In a bid to raise funds for charity, England cricketers have put their artistic side into exhibition as they have come up with sketches of their teammates. As many as 17 cartoons have been donated as a symbol of support to Cricket United fundraising day and are open for auction till 19th of this month.
Some of the BBC commentators too have joined hands with former and current England internationals for the cause. Chance to Shine, the Lord’s Taverners and the Professional Cricketers Association’s Benevolent Fund are the benefactors of the artworks.
Teammates take a dig at Ballance:
Gary Ballance was the center of attraction as Sam Robson and Joe Root made fun of his shirtless late night outing in a bar to celebrate the drawn Trent Bridge Test at Nottingham. The cricketer reportedly was fully drunk and was shouting foul langauge after the first Test of the tour. It seems that it was still the talking point among the England dressing room despite the series having taken quite a lot of twists and turns.
Middle order batsman Root, put on paper a group sketch of his current Engalnd squad, that shows a topless Ballance.
Robson’s work have the England No.3 with a raised bat in his hand without a shirt.
Robson also made a work on the legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne.
There is a sketch by former Engalnd captain Michael Vaughan on the injured pacer Stuart Broad. Vaughan himself was put on sketch by Root and Broad. Steven Finn, Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes and James Anderson are the other players of the England squad who contributed to the same. The latest England debutant Jos Buttler was also part of this creativity.
