England spinner Monty Panesar in trouble after urinating on bouncers

Monty Panesar faces charges for his intoxicated behaviour

English left-arm spinner Monty Panesar has found his name in the headlines for urinating on the bouncers after being thrown out of a Brighton club as he was drunk and behaving inappropriately.

According to The Telegraph, a Sussex Police spokesman said: “A 31-year-old man received a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly after being seen urinating in public near the Shooshh Club in King’s Road Arches, Brighton, around 4:13am on Monday.”

The English bowler who traces his roots back to India, was asked to leave the club when a group of women complained he was hassling them. An enraged Panesar then went up to the promenade above the club from where he urinated on the bouncers.

Subsequently, the cricketer apologised for his shameful act while in an inebriated state. His spokesman said: “Monty would like to apologise unreservedly for any offence caused.”

Sussex County Cricket Club, for which the 31-year old plays, have stated that they have launched an investigation into the matter and in a statement have mentioned: “Sussex County Cricket Club can confirm that an incident took place involving Monty Panesar in the early hours of Monday August 5.

“The matter is under full investigation, and the club will make no further comment at this stage.”

Panesar was chosen to be a part of the 14 member squad that retained the Ashes at Old Trafford on Monday, but missed out on the on-field action however.
