England failed to reach the quarter-finals of ICC World Cup 2015 under Eoin Morgan

What's the story?

The captain of the England cricket team, Eoin Morgan took part in an interview with ESPN Cricinfo where he answered 25 questions ranging from his favourite Irish meal, the worst singer in the side, the sportsman he’d have loved to have met, and more. The Cricinfo team even asked the English captain his favourite league and the player surprisingly revealed T10 league as his favourite league.

The background

Eoin Morgan had earlier opted out of the IPL auctions, which took place in 2019 but then made a late entry into the auction. However, the franchises showed no interest in him. The English player was recently in action leading his country against the lower-ranked Windies. However, the world no.1 side failed to defeat the Caribbean side before Eoin Morgan took part in this interview today.

The heart of the matter

Eoin Morgan recently became the first British player to score 6,000 ODI runs. The English captain has been the architect of England’s rise after the dismal outing they had in the 2015 World Cup. Morgan has played in multiple leagues worldwide but when he was asked which was his favourite league, he replied that the T10 league was his favourite.

Morgan has played in both the T10 seasons conducted so far and has been fairly successful in the league. While speaking of the other top class leagues of the world, Morgan has featured in the IPL, where he has played for several IPL franchises before being ignored by the owners this year. Also, he has played in Australia's premier T20 league, the Big Bash League yet he chose T10 as his personal favourite.

What's next?

With the World Cup approaching, the unsold Eoin Morgan would be looking to motivate the England team after the poor outing they had against Windies ahead of the mega-event.
