England's T20 captain Eoin Morgan has been named as the captain of the World XI side that is scheduled to take part in the one-off T20I against West Indies on May 31 at Lord's. This match is taking place to raise funds for two stadia in the Caribbean islands that were damaged following Hurricanes Irma and Maria last year.

The match is set to feature few of the world's best taking on the defending World T20 champions West Indies. It is almost certain that the Windies will have the services of their T20 specialists like Sunil Narine, Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard etc.

The World XI squad is yet to be named and one can expect a star-studded line-up to take on Carlos Brathwaite and his men at the Mecca of cricket. Apart from the England-Pakistan Test series, which will be starting the day after the match, there won't be any international fixture going around during the match. So, in all likelihood, the World XI will have some top stars from the teams all over the world.

"I am delighted to captain the ICC World XI at Lord’s in May against the West Indies. The cricket family always comes together to support worthwhile causes and this one-off T20I, featuring some of the best players in the world will be a great spectacle at the Home of Cricket. I am sure the sporting public will come out in force and help raise money and awareness towards restoring parts of the Caribbean hit by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September last year, which ripped through many communities in this beautiful part of the world," Morgan said after being named as the captain.
