Fantasy IPL, MI vs CSK: 5 best value-for-money and uncapped players
It is an exciting time for cricket fans as the Indian Premier League kicks off on April 7th with three-time champions Mumbai Indians facing the returning two-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the first game.
But it's not just the cricket on offer that will keep fans hooked over the course of the next two months; the fantasy games are also all set to take over the cricketing world! We are here to spoil you with suggestions and help you pick your side.
Since it is the first game of the season and we don’t know the favored combinations of the sides, we suggest you go for the players who are guaranteed starters and have a proven track record.
The new fantasy game StarPick has a lot of exciting features and also a number of options to choose from, with a total prize money of INR 44 lakh up for grabs. You can create your team here.
Here are some of our suggestions for you to consider while picking your squad (the value in brackets is the StarPick value).
5 best value-for-money players
#1 Shane Watson (8.3 M): He has been in good form and performed well in the PSL. He is likely to open the batting as well as the bowling for CSK. Although he may be a tad expensive, it'll be well worth spending on him as the returns are bound to be good.
#2 Dwayne Bravo (8.2 M): We all know what he is capable of. He gets a lot of wickets (and points!) in the death overs and will likely play the role of a lower order hitter this season. His record against MI is also very good. Moreover, he is not among the costliest players around, so he's a must-pick.
#3 Shardul Thakur (7.1 M): He has improved on his variations and was very successful in South Africa. Thakur is the first choice Indian fast bowler for CSK and is likely to share the burden of bowling in the death overs with Bravo.
#4 Mustafizur Rahman (9.9 M): He nearly won Bangladesh the Nidahas trophy with a superb maiden in the penultimate over. He can get you a lot of points in the death overs and is comparatively cheap too.
#5 Kieron Pollard (12.2 M): He has always done well against CSK and is likely to bat higher up the order this season than usual.
5 best uncapped players
#1 Krunal Pandya (11.6 M): The list is topped by Krunal Pandya (the highest paid uncapped player at the auctions), who will certainly bat up the order and bowl his quota of overs as Mumbai don’t have too many spinners in their squad.
#2 Ishan Kishan (7.2 M): A sure starter for MI who is likely to open the batting.
#3 Rahul Chahar (7.7 M): Might get a game for MI since they don’t have many spinners in their squad, will be a good differential option.
#4 Suryakumar Yadav (9.9 M): There is a competition for places but local boy Yadav might just get into the team and occupy the last batting slot.
#5 Deepak Chahar (6.9 M): Played a few games last season for RPS under Dhoni and he might get a chance again to do so with CSK as they have only one recognized Indian fast bowler in Thakur.
Good luck for the Fantasy IPL this year!
