First four matches of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019
Indian Premier League, one of the most popular events of cricket is going to start from 23 March 2019. Recently, BCCI announced the time table of the first 2 weeks of IPL. This event will start the match between Royal Challengers and defending champions Chennai Super Kings.
In the last season of IPL MI lost their starting matches. In the auction of IPL 2019, MI retained Rohit Sharma, pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Ben Cutting, Evin Lewis, and Hardik Pandya. They bought Yuvraj Singh and the fast bowling specialist Lasith Malinga. Now, it will be interesting to see the strategy of MI for their first four matches.
Here is the time table of Mumbai Indians for their fours matches.
#1 First match against Delhi Capitals (March 24)
Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, MI want to start their IPL with a win at their home ground, Mumbai. Having pace attack including Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada and Chris Moris, it's not going to be easy. They have a long batting line up included Shikhar Dawan, Shreyas Iyer, Colin Munro, Colin Ingram, and Rishab Pant.
#2 The second match against Royal Challengers Banglore (March 28)
Royal Challengers Banglore has always been a tough contender for the title. The 7th match of the league will take place in Banglore.
They have the world's best and talented batsman like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer and Colin de Grandhomme. Both Virat Kohli and de Villiers have the ability to destroy any team's bowling attack. It will be interesting to see how MI represent their bowling attack against RCB.
#3 Third match against Kings XI Punjab (March 30)
At their home ground Mohali, KXIP will play against MI. In the last season of IPL, Kings XI Punjab missed the opportunity to qualify for the playoffs. For the IPL 2019, they retained Universe Boss Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, and David Miller.
Mohammad Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin could be the X factor for KXIP. MI won the last two game against KXIP. Now, the pressure will be on KXIP.
#4 The fourth match against Chennai Super Kings (3 April)
Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions of IPL. It's always interesting to see a match between these two teams. Against a team having MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, and Shane Watson is not going to be an easy task to win for Mumbai Indians. But they have an advantage of their home ground. As CSK has the world's best finisher MS Dhoni, despite this MI must want to win here.
