Fixtures announced for India's home series against South Africa

The last time these two met, India beat SA convincingly at the MCG

The BCCI and CSA have jointly released the schedule for India’s home series against South Africa which will begin in the month of October this year, reports NDTV. The series comprises of 3 T20s, 5 ODIs and 4 Test matches as the Proteas will be looking to seek revenge for their loss against the same opposition earlier this year at the MCG in a World Cup group game.

The series will begin with the T20s first as Dharamshala, Cuttack and Kolkata will be hosting them. And then the first ODI will begin at Kanpur on the 11th of October with the final ODI scheduled at Mumbai on the 25th

If all goes well, AB de Villiers will be playing his landmark 100th Test match at his ‘second home’ Bangalore which will be hosting the second Test.

"I am delighted to confirm, together with the BCCI, the Proteas' itinerary for our tour of India later this year," said CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat as reported by NDTV.

"This will be the longest tour that we have undertaken to India and the first time we will play a four-Test series. Both countries are now working to develop this into an icon series. Another first is that we will be playing our first T20 International match against India in India. Of note will be the second Test match to be played in Bangalore where South Africa previously secured our only ever Test Series win over India in India in 2000. If all works out this will be AB de Villiers' 100th Test match and it could not be a more appropriate venue as it has become AB's second home through his involvement with the Royal Challengers Bangalore,” he was quoted as saying by the channel.
