Funniest IPL moments ever
“Why so serious? Let’s put a smile on that face!”
We all know whose iconic dialogue that was. As The Joker weaved chaos across Gotham, he had but only one intention: to make people see through the veneer of tragedy and laugh at the comedy that lies within it.
Life is a tragic comedy, hence, it is better to laugh at the comedy than cry at the tragedy. At least that’s what they say.
IPL, like everything else in life, has its ups and downs. However, in this article, we will focus on the laughs. The IPL has provided us with a lot of unforgettable moments, some of which left us rolling with laughter.
And here are 5 such moments…
Adam Gilchrist’s wicket celebration
We all fondly remember Adam Gilchrist for his incredible work behind the stumps as well as destructive hitting power with the bat.
However, the world saw him bowl once in T20s when he finished his IPL career with the ball in his hand. Mumbai Indians needed 58 runs in the last over with just 2 wickets remaining. The game was over for them.
Since it was his last game, Adam Gilchrist gave his ‘keeping gloves to Praveen Kumar and took the ball in his hand to commemorate his final outing in the IPL.
Harbhajan Singh was the batsman that was facing him. Gilly then playfully threw an overpitched delivery that was asking to be hit—and Bhajji obliged, only to mistime and hit it straight down the throat of long on.
After that came the epic celebration. The usually restrained Australian did the Bhajji-styled Gangnam dance to bring a laugh on everybody’s faces.
