Ganguly comments on India 'A' tour and Virat Kohli's captaincy
Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly admits that sending India ‘A’ to tour South Africa ahead of a Test series is a good initiative.
“A team is going ahead of the Test series, so that’s a good preparation. This team has a potential,” said Ganguly.
The team will be led by Cheteshwar Pujara and will compete in an ODI tri-series with South Africa ‘A’ and Australia ‘A’ being the other two teams.
When asked about Virat Kohli‘s captaincy in the ongoing series against Zimbabwe, Ganguly said: “It was just for the Zimbabwe series. First let him become captain, then we will say.”
A young Indian side, led by Virat Kohli in Zimbabwe, has taken an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the absence of their regular skipper MS Dhoni.
India’s tour of South Africa 2013-14 will begin on Thursday, November 21, 2013. India is scheduled to play 2 T20Is and 7 ODIs before the start of a 3-match Test series in South Africa.
