Glenn Maxwell with an epic reply after fan tries to troll him on Twitter
A couple of weeks ago, Glenn Maxwell was crowned Australia’s ODI Player of the Year, a year after he won the T20 cricketer of the year. But his performances since then haven't been up to the same standards.

In the Chappell-Hadlee trophy against New Zealand, Maxwell struggled as he got two ducks in three matches. He finished the series with six runs and an average of just 2. As Australia lost the series, it was only natural that the fans question the performances of the batsmen, who failed to chase modest totals.
After the third ODI, a fan trolled Maxwell about his poor form and wondered just how low the standards have fallen:
@Gmaxi_32 averages 1 in New Zealand, Supposed ODI player of the year for Australia lol

But the Australian came up with the perfect response as he took the comment on the chin and has this to say:
You are a jerk!!! I averaged 2... https://t.co/V0pHYkv5n3

When another fan commented that he was not enjoying everyone trolling the Australian all-rounder, Maxwell responded promptly saying:
It happens when you have a sh#t series. Hopefully I don't deal with it too often.... https://t.co/Wz0hjdqeTV

When you dig a little deeper into Maxwell’s numbers against Australia's bitter rivals. the stats make for some interesting reading. While there is little doubt that he has formed the backbone of the Australian middle-order and done well in crunch situations, his record against New Zealand in ODIs don’t make for pleasant reading.
In fact, his overall record against the Trans-Tasman rival is nothing to write home about. In fact, he only averages 9 against them in 6 matches with a top score of 29* and strike rate of 90, which is far removed from his overall numbers, which are impressive. In 62 ODIs, he averages almost 35, with an impressive strike rate in excess of 125.
His numbers in New Zealand are even worse as he only averages a meagre 1.75 and has a strike rate under 40. In four matches, he has got two ducks and a top score of just 6, which was scored in the second match of the series, which Australia won.
