Graeme Swann feels sick about Mohammad Amir's comeback

Former English spinner Graeme Swann says that Mohammad Amir’s return to Test Cricket in the first Test against England will sicken him. Mohammad Amir is set to play his first Test match since 2010, in Lord’s. Incidentally, he is going to be making his comeback in the same venue when Pakistan begins their tour of England next Thursday. Mohammad Amir along with Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt were banned from cricket after it was proved that they under-performed in a Test Match against England at Lord’s back in 2010.

As per the reports of The Sun newspaper in England, Swann said, "Mohammad Amir will walk out on the green and glorious turf at Lord’s on Thursday — and it will make me feel sick”

"This is a man who crushed the morality of the game. And yet he is being allowed back to play at the Home of Cricket.

"Amir should have been banned for life for his part in the corruption scandal of 2010.

"If you want to protect the integrity of the game, help cricket grow and inspire youngsters, there can be no place for corrupt players. You must have proper deterrents."

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq said that he is quite confident that Mohammad Amir is going to make a successful comeback to Test cricket and he will be having the support of his teammates by his side.

Misbah said, "Everyone has their opinion but now he is back everyone is supporting him and the whole team is there. Honestly speaking I don't care about these things. I'm just focused on what is going on in the middle. I have to focus on that and how he bowls and how he performs.

"He has the best chance to prove himself in the middle, not to worry about spectators saying something, never listen to them and focus on what is going on," the Pakistani star added.

The current England captain, Alastair Cook, feels that Amir will receive a hostile reception from the Lord’s crowd, but his performance on the field is going to be the most important thing.

England are scheduled to play four Tests, five ODIs and a lone T20 International against Pakistan, with the first Test beginning on 14 July 2016.
