Graham Ford decides not to renew his contract as coach of Sri Lankan cricket team
According to NDTV, The Sri Lankan Cricket board (SLC) announced on Thursday that the national team’s head coach Graham Ford will be released from his duties after his contract expires in January 2014.
Ford was appointed as the head coach of the Sri Lanka national team in January 2012, replacing former Australian cricketer Geoff Marsh.
“Graham Ford has intimated that he would like to be released from his duties at the end of his contract due to his family.commitments”, SLC release said.
Ford was instrumental in guiding Sri Lanka to the 2012 T20 World Cup final, which they eventually lost to West Indies.
He is currently expected to take over the reins of the English county side Surrey.
