Great Curtly Ambrose warns West Indies players who are part of IPL

Former West Indies great Curtly Ambrose has gave an ultimate warning to all the Caribbean players playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) that it'll be tough for them to come back into the Test side.

The legendary fast bowler said that all players who signed up for the IPL had to understand the consequences of their actions.

"First of all, I believe we should try our best to feature our strongest team," Ambrose was quoted saying by sports360.com.

"Unfortunately, some of our top players are in the IPL at the moment. You can't really stop someone, or you shouldn't stop someone, from making decisions," added the 51-year-old.

Ambrose is now a part of the West Indies team coaching staff which is headed by Phil Simmons. He added saying that players need to decide whether they want to play for their nation or IPL teams.

"They've got to decide if they want to play for the West Indies or go to the IPL."

Ambrose, who has taken 405 wickets in the 98 Test matches, said that he aware of the lucrative contracts offer of the IPL but players should know their responsibilities and where to draw a line, otherwise for him, their come back is a straight no.

"I know it is a lucrative thing, the T20 and the IPL but, at the end of the day, we have to work with who we have.

"My only concern is that many of the guys we are working with who stay in the Caribbean, we are working with them, they are doing pretty OK and at the end of the IPL stint, should we just allow these guys to come straight back into the team? For me, I think not."
