Guy bets against Indian cricket team, parades shirtless through Dadar station

MS Dhoni propelled India to victory and also ensured that a twitter user had to travel shirtless in Mumbai

In a hilarious rebuttal, an irate cricket fan who was put off by India’s disappointing start to the South Africa series navigated his way through the Dadar railway station in Mumbai. He had lost a bet against the Indian team who recorded a thrilling comeback to seal a victory over the Proteas in Indore.

Earlier, he had openly declared on Twitter that he would put on a topless display in full public view if India were to win the 2nd ODI against the tourists. When Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat, his challenge did not seem likely to be fulfilled as the Indian batsmen were tottering 165/7 in the 40th over.

However, skipper MS Dhoni had other plans. In a controlled innings filled with grit and gumption, he single-handedly carried his team to 247 and offered the Indian bowlers a chance to stage a fight-back.

Dhoni then marshaled his troops in his own inimitable style and inspired the Indian bowlers to defend a moderate total in front of delighted supporters at the Holkar Stadium. From 134/2, South Africa were bowled out for 225.

Madan Chikna, the man who had brazenly issued the challenge, found himself ridiculed on social media. But he was sporting enough to keep his word and paraded shirtless throughout his train journey in one of the most crowded railway stations in the world.

Here are some of the responses from a few Twitter users upon the completion of India’s victory:

Finally, he posted a photo of himself without any shirt in the crowded Dadar station:

He was congratulated by several twitter users for fulfilling his challenge:
