Some of my friends who are into making clothes told me since I was already playing with my own brand of bat sticker, I should make a foray in fashion. The idea has worked very well. Today you demand what you want, Bhajji Sports will provide it.”
The out-of-favour spinner, who has an exceptional 413 wickets in 101 tests, has made more than a few headlines for his work off the field. He featured in a Punjabi film, appearing as Inspector Harbhajan, something which he has been in real life too with the Punjab police. He walked the ramp a few years ago and has also lent his voice to a Punjabi music video.
Earlier, in April, he had announced that he would soon turn to Film production, with plans of roping in superstars of Bollywood for a Punjabi movie. Later he quashed rumours that he would take his real-life love affair with Geeta Basra to the screen saying he will never act in any of his movies. Fans of the ‘Turbanator’ have been optimistic ever since.
Rahul Sharma, Punjabi leg-spinner has been impressed by Harbhajan’s latest idea: “I am glad that Bhajji pa came up with this clothes line. When a player, who is a part of the system does it, they know exactly what to do. He knows our requirements very well and has worked things accordingly.”
Harbhajan also threw light on his plans for expanding his business adding: “Not just cricket, we are doing clothing for football, hockey etc. It’s basic stuff but good designing is what I am looking to do.”
