Harbhajan Singh: Lack of practice hurt Indian bowlers
New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS) Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is of the belief that lack of practice was the reason behind the Indian bowlers' inconsistency during their dismal tour of Australia.
India lost the four-match Test series 0-2 and also failed to win a single match in the One-Day International (ODI) tri-series against England and Australia.
"Lack of practice is the reason for Indian bowlers being inconsistent. No one can bowl all six deliveries in the right areas, not even a great bowler like Glenn McGrath. But at least you bowl on the right areas at an average and that is not happening with the guys," Harbhajan said at the News24 cricket conclave here on Monday.
"I think they are not putting maximum efforts at the practice session. That is the reason," he further added.
The 34-year-old has taken 413 and 259 wickets for the country in Test and ODI cricket respectively.
Despite such a stellar record, Harbhajan wasn't even selected in the in the list of 30 Indian probables for the World Cup. He last played for India almost two years ago, with his last ODI appearance coming way back in June 2011.
