Harbhajan Singh remembers some favourite Team India members on Friendship Day
The India team that went into the 2003 World Cup was an epoch-making team in many ways. Not to speak of their on-field glories, the team was also one of the most likeable bunch of men to have turned out in the blue jersey. Some of the bonds of friendship made during this period have lasted much beyond the playing days of the individuals.
All the players from that generation may have either moved on into the next phases of their lives, there are some players whose youth seem never to run out – Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra are all among the best cricketers in the country. They are also among the best friends from that side.
On August 7, Friendship Day, Harbhajan Singh recalled three of his friends from that golden period, who he says jokingly are responsible for him losing his way and destroying him.
He tweets, “Those responsible for destroying me, this day is for those cursed people. Yuvraj, Zaheer, Ashish, Happy Friendship Day.”
