Hardik Pandya recalls the moment he was almost arrested in West Indies

Enigmatic Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya recalled the moment he had a run-in with the police during India's tour of West Indies earlier this year. However, the incident turned out to be a prank, which was set up by his friend, and West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard.

The 24-year-old lad from Baroda caught up with T.V show anchor Gaurav Kapur on the popular show "Breakfast with Champions" to talk about his cricketing career and much more.

He spoke about the great camaraderie he shares with Pollard and the incident during India's tour.

"When we went to West Indies, I was with him the whole time. I was roaming about as if I was in India because I knew that he won't let anything happen to me," said Pandya.

"However, he decided to pull my leg. He called a police officer, who was actually his friend, who tried to arrest me. I knew it was a prank but at one point, things got a little serious. I stayed calm and I thought I would call the Indian team and sort it all out because I haven't done anything wrong.

I figured out it was a prank when I saw the police officer try to call someone while holding the phone upside down with the speaker at the other end," he continued.

The Indian cricket team had toured West Indies in June this year and comfortably won the five-match ODI series 3-1. However, they lost the lone T20I.

Pandya went on to speak about the struggles he faced at the beginning of his career and the amount of hard work he put in to get where he is today.

The talk show hosted by Gaurav Kapur has garnered a lot of popularity over the past few weeks and has gained a lot of subscribers on YouTube.

He has also interviewed Indian captain Virat Kohli, recently retired bowler Ashish Nehra, and Suresh Raina as well.

The 36-year-old anchor has been around in the Indian cricket scene for over a decade now. He has been a part of the Indian Premier League right from the very beginning and is seen hosting the pre-match and post-match shows.

We could surely expect to see many more big names grace the show and open up about their lives in front of the camera.
