Hashim Amla to miss warm-up match against India 'A', Albie Morkel yet to get visa

South Africa’s Test captain Hasim Amla will miss Tuesday’s warm-up match

South African batsman Hashim Amla will be unavailable from his team’s practice match against India ‘A’ on Tuesday, and will join the rest of the squad couple of days later due to personal commitments, as reported by PTI. Albie Morkel is also not with the rest of the squad, because he has not been issued a visa yet.

Morkel was named in the squad as a late replacement for the injured David Wiese, and so will join the team in India later, but in time for the 1st T20I on October 2nd.

"Hashim will not be available for the practice game tomorrow. He will be joining the squad after the T20 game. He will join us here in Delhi and fly with the team to Dharamsala," team's media manager Lerato Malekutu said on Monday.

"Amla will join us on Wednesday," said Coach Russell Domingo.

Albie was named as last minute replacement: SA

Amla and Morkel will be out of the T20 match at the Palam grounds on Tuesday, the precursor to a very long 72-day tour. The two teams will move on from the 1st T20I to Cuttack and then Kolkata for the last two games. A young India ‘A’ team under the leadership of Mandeep Singh will be locking horns with the South Africans on Tuesday

Asked about Albie Morkel's absence, the media manager said, "Albie is yet to get visa for India as he was announced as last minute replacement for David Wiese."

The South African team had a two-and-half-hour session at the Air force ground with likes of Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy having a quality net session.

Michael Hussey was spotted at the Proteas training ground, helping them out with their drills, in an unofficial capacity.
