“He starts like a Corolla and finishes like a Ferrari” – When Dinesh Karthik hailed Virat Kohli in a unique manner
In 2021, former Team India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Dinesh Karthik put forward his opinion on Virat Kohli's knock against England using an interesting anecdote. England and India squared off in a five-match T20I series, with Karthik's comments being from the third game of the series.
Batting first, Team India scored 156/6 with the then T20I skipper Virat Kohli (77 off 46) leading the run-scoring charts. He was the only batter with a contribution in excess of 30 runs, with Rishabh Pant (25 off 20) being the next highest run-getter.
A highlight of Kohli's knock from that game was that he was slow to get off the blocks and then accelerated towards the end of his innings, staying unbeaten till the end and helping India score a sizeable total.
Taking to his official account on X, Karthik used the following anecdote on his official X account to sum up Kohli's knock. The 39 year old said:
"Starts like a corolla , finishes like a FERRARI #KingKohli"
Take a look at the tweet below:
Virat Kohli's efforts went in vain as England chased down the total with 10 balls to spare. Jos Buttler top scored for England with a 52 ball 83 and also won the Player of the match for his efforts.
