Former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs arrested for reckless driving

Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has been arrested for drunken driving after an accident in Camps Bay on Sunday evening. As per reports, Gibbs clashed with a Toyota after being found guilty of driving over the speed limit. Thankfully, though, no injuries have been sustained. 

The exact circumstances that led to the incident are still being investigated, informed Western Cape police spokesperson FC van Wyk.

"A case of drunk driving is under investigation. The 40-year-old suspect was arrested at 23:30 on Sunday and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on November 25, 2015," Van Wyk confirmed.

Camps Bay police station commander Captain Delicia Isaacs confirmed the incident. She said that a case has been registered and that the investigation is currently underway. 

Gibbs, in his 14-year international career, scored 6,167 runs from 90 Tests at an average of 41.95 and 8,094 runs from 248 ODIs at 36.13 before retiring in 2010.
