HPCA to name indoor facility after Tendulkar
Dharamsala – The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has decided to name an indoor facility in its picturesque stadium here after Sachin Tendulkar.
“The new centre of excellence at the stadium is likely to be opened by Tendulkar himself Friday,” an HPCA office bearer said Thursday.
However, Tendulkar fans are desperately awaiting his first-ever match at the HPCA’s sole venue, located at an altitude of 4,000 feet above sea level here, May 18 when Mumbai Indians take on Kings XI Punjab.
The stadium, 250 km from state capital Shimla, has a 21,600-seat capacity.
Officials said the indoor facility has video analysis facilities for both bowlers and players and a practice wicket, besides a spa.
