Hussey describes dressing room feeling 'horrible'

Mike Hussey, former Australian batsman, does not want to be part of the Australian team touring England and described the feeling as ‘horrible’.

“I feel for the guys because I’ve certainly been in that situation as well where we haven’t been playing that well and losing games and it’s a horrible feeling in the dressing room,” Hussey was quoted saying in the Sydney Morning Herald.

The 38-year-old, however, feels that the presence of experienced Darren Lehmann in the staff will help them maintain the fighting spirit against England.

“When I started, we had a great team and it didn’t really matter what I did. I could go out there with a lot of freedom and just play. I knew that if I didn’t score runs then Matthew Hayden would’ve or Ricky Ponting would’ve. That’s one thing Darren Lehmann will be good for. He will help the guys try to relax a little bit, take the pressure off themselves,” he added.

The third Test, beginning Thursday, is a must-win for Australia if they want to stop England from retaining the Ashes trophy. The home team, leading the series 2-0, needs only a draw at Old Trafford to keep the Ashes for the third successive time.
