Recollecting one of the incidences relating to Sachin Tendulkar that happened during his Under-19 days, Virat Kohli revealed that he has always wanted to play like the Mumbai-born Indian cricketing legend. Tendulkar, who retired from all formats of cricket last year, celebrates his 41st birthday today.

Kohli first had a chance to meet his idol while training with the Indian U-19 team ahead of a tour to New Zealand back in 2007.

He was quoted as saying by DelhiBaskar, “As soon as we saw Sachin enter the stadium, we got goosebumps since none of us had met him before that. He walked towards the area where we were practicing, and he spoke to us about the conditions. I just stood there looking at him. I didn’t even blink my eyes because I couldn’t quite believe it. It was something truly special.”
