ICC ODI Rankings: Rohit Sharma reaches career-best ratingĀ

Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan both moved up in the latest ICC ODI Rankings for Batsmen. Rohit, who captained India in the three-match series that the hosts won 2-1, gained two spots to move to No.5 and reached his career-best rating point after scoring his third ODI double century in the second ODI.

Virat Kohli continues to lead the batsmen's ranking and AB de Villiers takes second spot while David Warner is in third and Babar Azam is in fourth. Quinton de Kock and Joe Root slipped down a spot as Rohit moved to No.5.

After the second ODI in Mohali, where he scored an unbeaten 208, Rohit reached a career-high rating of 825 points but ended the series with 816 after India's convincing victory at Visakhapatnam. Dhawan also climbed up a spot to 14th after scoring 168 runs in the three-match series in which he was named the Man of the Series.

Hasan Ali leads the bowler's rankings in ODI with Imran Tahir in second spot while Jasprit Bumrah remains in third spot after the latest update. He is the only Indian in the top ten, which doesn't see any major change in the top ten. Rashid Khan, Sunil Narine and Liam Plunkett moved up a spot to eighth and ninth.

India's spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav also made rapid strides in the bowler's rankings. Chahal moved up 23 places to 28th after his six wickets in three matches and Kuldeep is now in a career-best 56th spot, after climbing up 16 places. All-rounder Hardik Pandya also moved to his career-best ranking of 45.

Sri Lankan batsman Upul Tharanga, who became just the third batsman to cross 1,000 ODI runs in 2017 also climbed 15 places to move to 36th spot while Niroshan Dickwella gained seven spots to 37th. Sri Lankan pacer Suranga Lakmal (up 14 places to 22nd) and Angelo Mathews (45th) also moved up in the list for bowlers.
