ICC suspends Jason Holder and the cricketing world comes out to support him
The Windies have been putting up some promising performances against England in the home Test series. They won the first Test by a huge margin of 381 runs, which lit up the eyebrows of the entire cricketing fraternity.
In that match, the Windies captain led from the front by scoring a scintillating double century while Kemar Roach led the bowling attack and the spirited unit eventually bowled England out for 77 in the first innings of the the Test.
The Caribbean side carried the momentum into the second Test as well. They bowled out England under 200 in both the innings of the 2nd Test. Roach was among the highest wicket-takers once again as his team went on to win the Test by 10 wickets and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match Test series.
The major credit of this historic victory goes to Jason Holder, whose phenomenal all-around performance and inspiring leadership skills played a huge role in the memorable victory.
But unfortunately, when everything was panning out for the home team, ICC charged the Windies captain with a one-match suspension which evoked a debate among cricket fans and experts.
The Test ended inside three days but Jason Holder has still been suspended because of slow over rate which was quite shocking and made everyone support the 27-year-old.
Jason Holder almost single-handedly won his team the Test series against this highly-rated English side and also reached the no.1 spot in ICC Test rankings for all-rounders.
And with everything falling in place for the Barbadian cricketer, this suspension will undoubtedly hurt him badly.
ICC went by the rules but people think there should have been a thought process before imposing such a penalty and ICC needs some rethinking regarding some rules.
