ICC World Twenty20: How politics divided India, cricket brought us together

With just two matches to go, MS Dhoni can give us a third World Cup in 9 years

In a country that is divided by what not, 11 players have proved to be a glue holding together Indians. While people have been tired of corruption, scams and terrorism - this World T20 have given them a reason to rejoice lately.

This team have offered the people of this country a common platform to put aside their differences for some time and cheer for the unison. The sense of patriotism has been in the air. People have been chanting Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata ki Jai.

This team has proved our victories are not a fluke. It is a show of confidence. It is a show of consistency. It has been pure brilliance after the initial jolt.

Politics and cricket have always been the two favorite past times of the country. Both can stir the emotion of the people from all communities.

Irrespective of the lows to which politicians drag the country, World T20 played a powerful role in unifying people and helping them overcome antagonism between each other.

World T20 brings India together again

3rd April will be a red-letter day in the Indian cricket history again. The squad of extremely talented win-hungry Men in Blue can only bring victory and nothing else.

With two games to go, the World Cup is now intense. So are our tension and pressure.

After the first game, every match has been ecstatic with facts, tweets and sarcasm. The massive entry to the semi-finals was earned after the brilliant show by the man of the moment, Virat Kohli.

We have been allergic to teams wearing green jerseys in this campaign. Both the games against the green jerseys at Eden Gardens and IS Bindra Stadium have churned out the best performances of the team.

#PhirJeetenge: Mantra of every cricket fan now

The ICC World T20 2016 has again accelerated our minds and spread the spirit of happiness across India. The impact of cricket is undeniable and has spread it's magic yet again for the people to involve, enjoy, and share the happiness.

The splendid display of cricket and the connection between various departments of the team has totally raised this team to a completely new level.

The excitement has been triggered by every status update, memes, and trolls - which in turn has increased our confidence of going all the way. The 'Mauka Mauka' series is a solid proof of that.

We all have directly or indirectly updated, liked, commented or shared a good update. We have enjoyed our favorite shots by Kohli or stumpings by MSD again and again.

Moments worth a lifetime

We have connected with our favorite players on Twitter and came one step closer with them. Ravi Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh has earned more fan's support on Twitter over anything.

Not just that, the enormous support at the stadiums have boosted the confidence of the players which in turn has tremendously converted into victory. With just two matches to go, MS Dhoni can give us a third World Cup in 9 years.

There have been moments that are worth a lifetime. Be it giving a sharp reply to Bangladesh, a terrific post-match presentation by MSD or a simple sledging, we are sure to cherish this World Cup for ever and ever.

Politics divided India, T20 united India

Cricket gives people renewed hope

Amidst all the social tensions and unnecessary debates in our country, cricket united us again. With millions of cricket fans vouching for a third World Cup, this is certainly the best time to view a grand World-Cup event against England in Kolkata on 3rd April.

It is a game and that's how it should be treated. But sadly, it is not viewed as a game. It's a measure of pride and dignity.

There is no minority or majority community, no regional barrier, no North-South divide as the whole of India will celebrate the performance of a Rohit Sharma, a Jasprit Bumrah, a Hardik Pandya, a Suresh Raina and a Virat Kohli, all led by an MS Dhoni.

One thing is for sure, the Men in Blue will indeed make West Indies and England bleed blue. So, let's not give a 'Mauka' to them.

Let's enjoy the next two games and cherish the victory.
