ICC T20I Rankings: Kohli, Bumrah no longer No.1
Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been displaced from top spot in the ICC T20I rankings for batsmen and bowlers and have now moved down to third spot. Australian opener Aaron Finch and Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim regained top spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings after India's 3-0 win in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. KL Rahul also jumped up to fourth spot in the latest update.
Virat Kohli, who didn't take part in the T20I series moved down to third spot and lost out on 48 points as he currently occupies third spot with 776 points (down from 824 before the start of the T20I series). Kohli, now occupies first spot in ODIs, second in Tests and third in T20Is.
Indian openers, Lokesh Rahul and Rohit Sharma finished the T20I series as the top scorers in the T20I series also made huge gains. Rahul's back-to-back half-centuries helped him climb up to No.4, climbing 23 slots in the process. Rohit also moved up six spots to 14th.
Bumrah, who finished wicketless in the series, after playing the first two T20Is slipped to third as Wasim occupies top spot and Rashid Khan moved up to second place, his career-best position.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who finished as the leading wicket-taker in the series, moved up 14 spots to 16th while Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya, who both picked up six wickets, moved up 48 places and 40 places respectively. They now occupy 64th and 39th spot respectively.
Among the rest of the top ten, there aren't many major changes. Evin Lewis has climbed up to second while Kane Williamson occupies fifth spot. Glenn Maxwell occupies sixth spot while two English batsmen, Alex Hales and Joe Root occupy the seventh and eight spot.
In the bowler's rankings, Bumrah is the only India in the top 15. Spinners dominate the top six spots as Bumrah is the only pacer, with two leg spinners, Samuel Badree and Imran Tahir occupying the fourth and fifth spots.
