ICC Test Rankings for batsmen: AB de Villiers dethrones Hashim Amla at the top
South Africa’s batsmen are having a ball, albeit with the bat, in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen.
After South Africa beat Pakistan by an innings and 92 runs in Dubai, the rankings were updated and AB de Villiers clinched the top stop, displacing his teammate Hashim Amla.
AB de Villiers also broke the 900-point barrier and in doing so became the fifth South African batsman to do so, after Dudley Nourse, Graeme Pollock, Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla.
The Proteas captain Greame Smith also jumped an impressive seven spots to break into the top 10.
Cheteshwar Pujara is the only Indian batsman in the top 10 rankings for batsmen.
