ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2021: Full schedule, match timings, squads & live-streaming details
The 2021 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers is just around the corner and is all set to commence on 21st November.
The competition acts as a pathway for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup 2022, which will be staged in New Zealand in March-April. Nine teams will compete in the qualification tournament, with three making their way into the mega event.
Earlier, there were 10 countries scheduled to participate, but Papua New Guinea had to withdraw from the tournament owing to a COVID-19 outbreak within the team just before boarding the flight.
The remaining nine teams are divided into two Groups, namely A and B. While Group A includes West Indies, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and the Netherlands, Group B consists of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Zimbabwe, and the USA.
The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super 6 phase with points being carried over. The sides who then finish in the top three will qualify for the World Cup 2022 alongside New Zealand, Australia, England, South Africa and India.
The matches will be played at Old Hararians, Harare Sports Club, Sunrise Cricket Club, and Takashinga Cricket Club.
