ICC World Cup 2015: Dale Steyn set to be fit for match against India
Melbourne, Feb 20 (IANS) South Africa's pace spearhead Dale Steyn is fit to lead their attack in a crucial cricket World Cup match against India on Sunday after recovering from a bout of sinusitis, coach Russell Domingo said on Friday.
"He is fine, there is nothing to be concerned about," Domingo was quoted as saying by sport24.co.za. Domingo added the bowler was suffering with cold and flu even before the tournament's beginning.
South Africa face India in a Pool B match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after underperforming in recent matches. The 31-year-old bowled just seven overs in his team's first warm-up match against Sri Lanka and was rested for the second practice game against co-hosts New Zealand.
Steyn's efforts were clearly hampered by the problem during South Africa's World Cup opener against Zimbabwe in Hamilton last Sunday, where he managed just a wicket, giving away for 64 from nine overs. South though won the match by 62 runs.
Steyn, with 152 wickets from 97 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), is widely regarded as the best pacer of his generation and is central to South Africa's chances of winning a maiden World Cup title.
