In modern-day cricket, which is considered to be a batsmen's game, bowlers have learned to change their roles accordingly to fit into the system. Limited-overs cricket has demanded a lot of changes from the bowlers and the newest generation of bowlers seems to have adapted perfectly, especially the leggies. The past couple of years have shown the importance of wrist spinners in limited overs cricket as their wicket taking abilities in the middle overs is the need of the hour in ODI cricket. 

Considering the English conditions, post the 2015 World Cup, the pitches have been flatter than ever and that does not seem to change in the World Cup as well. As evident from the past, teams with the best bowling attacks generally go the distance. And on flat wickets, where batsmen from both sides will strive, it will all boil down to the side having better wicket-taking options.

Kagiso Rabada 

One of the most promising fast bowlers among the current lot, Kagiso Rabada has been phenomenal in both formats of the game ever since his arrival in international cricket. Spearheading South African attack over the past couple of years in the absence of Steyn, Rabada has improved leaps and bounds.

Currently ranked fourth in the ODI rankings for bowlers, Rabada holds the key to South Africa's chances in the World Cup.

Rabada picked 23 wickets from 14 games in 2018, at an average of 26.17 and strike-rate of 32.3. With best figures of 4/41, he had two four-fers to his name in the past year with an impressive economy of 4.85. Rabada's knack of getting better of the best in the world makes him a threat against all oppositions.
