The Kolkata police has made elaborate security arrangements, including deploying over 2,500 personnel for the marquee India-Pakistan World Twenty20 cricket clash at the Eden Gardens here on Saturday.

"Foolproof security arrangements will be put in place for the match including deployment of 2000 constables including lady constables, several hundreds of inspectors, sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors who all be supervised by top ranked officers including deputy commissioners", a city police officer said on Thursday.

"Besides nine watch towers, 11 sand bunkers, three quick response teams (QRTs) five Police Assistance Booths will be placed at strategic locations," added the officer.

Several high profile guests including diplomats and former cricket greats from both the countries will be present for the high-voltage clash.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier written to Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) chief Sourav Ganguly assuring adequate security measures for the match.
