"Considering the enormous demand for these identified matches (4 India matches, 2 semi-finals and the final) a limited inventory of tickets are being sold through this unique lottery system. I congratulate all the winners who have won their tickets online and invite them to witness these matches," he said.

Thakur added that there have been 5,69,000 online registrations made for the lottery draw and that the India-Pakistan encounter at Dharamsala has garnered 2,02,000 registrations.

"Around 5,69,000 online registrations were made for the lottery draw process. The India versus Pakistan match saw around 2,02,000 online registrations. I am happy to note that more than 45,000 tickets have been sold online for matches other than the India matches, which augurs well for the tournament," he said.

The lucky winners will be sent the notification by email and Shorts Messaging Service (SMS) and will be given 48 hours to complete the transaction online and secure the tickets, failing which the tickets will be reintroduced in the random draw to identify to next applicant.
