Hosts India square off against New Zealand in the game tonight. Both teams will look to get off to a good start and register points on the board. If rain plays spoilsport, the two teams will share points among themselves as there are no reserve days in the tournament.
Though the weather department has said that there will be no rain in the evening, yet it created a sense of anxiety amongst the anxious fans about the possibility of the high-octane clash. The teams too wouldn’t like rain to hamper their chances to get some early points on the board. India and New Zealand are in the same group which also has Australia, Pakistan and Bangladesh as the other three teams.
So the group looks like a group-of-death and it’s imperative for the teams to get the all important points on the board. Rain is the last thing they would want. Having no reserve days is also a bane. So they might be keeping their fingers crossed to keep the rain away from the scene.
